impact resistance or sealing is required,”
Kevin Fales, BCP Marketing Specialist
for Flexco, said. “And when both styles
are combined, users can achieve
ultimate performance in the load zone.”
Along with offering design control in
the load zone, the new beds can also be
paired side-by-side with each other to
match specific load zone lengths and
requirements. They feature slide-out
service in three pieces, offering service
to each section right at the conveyor,
complete with long-lasting 1 in. (25 mm)
UHMW bars that are designed for use
on reversing belts.
Universal components and
field-adjustable trough angles reduce
lead time and make the Modular Impact
Beds easier to service.
Priming the pump
SKF has introduced its Lincoln HTL 201
EEX hydraulically-driven pump for use
in volatile applications, such as
underground mining. Featuring a steel
pump body and lubricant reservoir, this
unit is a cost-effective alternative to
electrically driven pumps that must
include a cabinet for protection.
Designed to minimise friction and
wear, the HTL 201 EEX is operated via
the hydraulic system of a superior
machine or carrier system and supplies
lubricant as long as that machine or
carrier device is active. It is based on the
Lincoln HTL 201 hydraulic tool
lubricator concept and includes a
grounding point to discharge electricity
immediately, if needed.
The HTL 201 EEX is compact, durable
and easy to install and maintain. Its
refillable reservoir holds 1.5 l (52.9 fluid
oz) of NLGI grade 2 grease. The pump
unit has an integrated throttle to adjust
the lubricant output, and it accepts
progressive metering devices.
The pump is approved for use in
underground coal mines in Australia
and South Africa. It has also been ATEX
approved for use in underground coal
mines in Europe (Mining Equipment
Group: Equipment Category M2).
Back to black
RungePincockMinarco (RPM) is getting
back into the coal market with the launch
of its new opencast coal XPAC Solution
(OCCS). The new solution is intended for
coal miners facing the challenges of today
and will incorporate sophisticated
product optimisation, dynamic haulage
functionality and the advanced
destination scheduler. One of the biggest
challenges faced by mine planners is the
ever-changing haulage routes in strip
mines. The solution uses its dynamic
haulage functionality to manage this with
ease and sophistication.
“This new open cut coal solution will
handle more data and process schedules
faster than any other application on the
market,” said Craig Halliday, Executive
Vice President – Software. “Everything
about this solution is more
comprehensive, streamlined and user
friendly than any other product offered
in the coal space previously.”
Another feature that is incorporated
is the Product Optimiser, which enables
users to deliver results faster during the
course of running the schedule, said
Halliday. The Product Optimiser can be
used for multi-pit management,
multi-stockpile management and the
delivery of multiple products.
While RPM has implemented new
features, it has also kept some
tried‑and‑true methods as well, such as
the Advanced Destination Scheduler,
which makes the coal solution “more
powerful than ever”, according to
Halliday, as it simultanesouly schedules
sources and destinations and
incorporates haulage, at the same time
as building the schedule, which gives a
“complete picture of the entire mining
operation”.
“RPMpioneered the move into
Enterprise Mine Planning, so in following
that strategy this latest Solution benefits
from all the development in that area,”
concluded Halliday. “Using the central
Enterprise Planning Framework, the Coal
Solution leverages the robust master data
module, allowing greater control and
delivering new levels of transparency in
planning. Utilising RPM’s enterprise
model repository also ensures that a
single source of the truth is used at all
times.”

a platform to incorporate complex
equipment into a 3D plant modelling
environment, spanning all phases of
projects from feasibility through
construction and commissioning. Both
our cement and minerals divisions will
benefit from having one tool with
master data shared seamlessly on a
global platform.”
Best of both worlds
RPM is to buy iSolutions, a provider of
asset management, life cycle costing and
budgeting software solutions to the
mining industry. The acquisition will
bring iSolutions maintenance and repair
management software with RPM’s suite
of planning, production and financial
planning products.
“Mining is a very capital intensive
business and mobile mining
equipment that moves material makes
up a large proportion of the capital
and operational spend for every
mining company,” said RPM’s CEO
and Managing Director, Richard
Mathews. “Today as companies push
to drive capital and operating costs
down, it’s this area that presents the
best opportunity for additional
savings.”
Headquartered in Sydney, Australia,
