rock drill products and rock breakers
complement our expanded offerings
for the hard rock market, an exciting
growth area for Joy Global,” Joy
Global CEO and President Ted
Doheny said at the time of the
acquisition.
The US company will also
highlight its Joy crushing and
conveying (Figure 2) solutions, which
serve the ports, power, surface
aggregates, tunnelling, construction
and mining industries. Products
include belt conveyors (including
components and accessories),
hydraulic hammers, drilling
equipment and systems and
pneumatic hammers.
Liebherr goes large –
again
Liebherr Group will return to bauma
in style with a total display area of
more than 14 000 m
2
across two
stands: an outside area where it will
showcase over 60 pieces of equipment
and a 280 m
2
stand indoors where it
will show its latest development in
mechanical, hydraulic and electric
drive and control technology.
On the mining side, the company
will unveil its new entry into the 200 t
excavator class: the R 9200 (Figure 1).
With 12.5 m
2
bucket, the new
excavator offers “sustainable
performance while delivering peak
fuel burn, even in the most
challenging conditions,” the company
said in a press release. It is designed
to match mining trucks with payloads
of up to 140 t.
Liebherr will also show its new
hydrostatically-powered crawler
tractor in the 70 t category: the PR 776
(Figure 3). Designed for tough mining
and quarrying applications, the
PR 776 is powered by a Liebherr
12-cylinder diesel engine, which
develops 565 kW (768 hp/759 hp).
The PR 776 has a maximum operating
weight of 74 t and is equipped with
blade capacities of 18 m
3
(23.5 yd
3
)
(semi-U blade) or 22 m
3
(28.8 yd
3
) (U
blade).
Away from the mine site, Liebherr
will exhibit its new LH 110 C High
Rise Port Litronic material handler,
which has been designed for efficient
handling of bulk and general cargo in
ports. The LH 110 C High Rise Port
also includes redesigned attachments
for powerful work cycles when
handling cargos and will be available
in 2017.
The final highlight for coal
industry visitiors to the Liebherr
stand is the new XPower large wheel
loader – which will be available to
order for delivery after the show.
Liebherr calls the new XPower
wheel loader a “milestone in the
technological history of Liebherr
wheel loaders.” The new machine
includes a wide range of innovations,
including a power-split driveline
installed as standard, and has
undergone extensive testing –
including loading coal at a port. “The
positive test results demonstrate that
the efforts made by Liebherr to
combine fuel efficiency, high
performance, durability and comfort
in a single wheel loader have
achieved their goal over the long
term,” the company said.
Visitors from
North‑Rhine‑Westphalia
The German state of
North‑Rhine‑Westphalia (NRW) will
again be represented at bauma with a
pavilion entitled ‘Mining Skills from
North‑Rhine-Westphalia’. The state
pavilion, about 300 m
2
in size, will be
in the centre of the mining hall (C2),
where 22 exhibitors will highlight the
mining skills available in NRW and
display their innovative products and
services. The state pavilion will be
organised by the NRW Ministry of
Economic Affairs, Energy and
Industry and the exhibitors will
include Breuer Motoren GmbH,
indurad, KAMAT, Neuhäuser and
Siemag Tecberg.
SKF extends equipment
life
SKF will showcase some of the
innovations resulting from its
EnCompass Field Performance
Programme, during which it applied
its application experience and
tribological knowledge to improve
bearing performance in real-world
conditions. Innovations to be
showcased include the following:
n
n
Upgraded SKF Explorer
spherical roller bearings with
a service life twice that of the
previous SKF Explorer bearings,
especially under contaminated or
poor‑lubrication conditions.
