Latest mine production
scheduling tool
Minemax has released the latest
version of its opencast and
underground production scheduling
tool: iGantt 5.1.0. It incorporates a
number of functionality
enhancements based on customer
feedback, improving efficiency and
reporting capabilities for users, such
as  automated surface radial
precedence generation, advanced
reporting, improvements to 3D
visualisation and Gantt charts
and general bug fixes. In
addition, resource levelling is now
available for both 32-bit and 64-bit
versions.
iGantt 5.1.0 features improved
reports, which allow users to
determine minimum and maximum
attribute values per time period and
are useful for cut-off and cut-over
grade analysis. The improved reports
facilitate counting activities and
unique attribute values that match
selected conditions, making advanced
analysis and reporting processes even
simpler.
App for mounting bearings
SKF has introduced a new app for its
SKF Drive-up Method for mounting
bearings. Developed for ease of use in
the field, the app is offered in both iOS
andAndroid formats and can be used
on smartphones and tablets.
The app enables the user to achieve
accurate adjustment of spherical roller
and CARB toroidal roller bearings
mounted on tapered seatings. The
correct fit is attained by controlling the
axial drive-up of the bearing from a
predetermined starting position. The
method incorporates the use of an SKF
hydraulic nut fitted with a dial indicator,
as well as a highly accurate digital
pressure gauge mounted on the selected
pump.
When using the app, the user selects
the bearing designation and seating
arrangement, while the values required
for optimal mounting are also displayed.
In addition, the app provides
step‑by‑step working instructions. Both
the required values and instructions can
be saved in the convenient PDF format.

Conveying equipment
collaboration extended
thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions and
Siemens have renewed their successful
collaboration to provide innovative and
reliable transport systems to the mining
sector for another five years.

“Conveying technology must keep
up with the complex requirements of
the modern mining industry. We want
to continue offering our customers
reliable and highly-efficient conveyor
systems,” said Jens Michael Wegmann,
Chairman of the Management Board of
the Industrial Solutions Business Area
of thyssenkrupp. “It is only possible to
optimise modern mechatronic belt
drive systems like this by working in
close cooperation with a partner
because the mechanics and the motor
form a self-contained unit. That’s why
we are carrying on the tried and tested
cooperation with Siemens.”
“We are happy to be able to keep on
supporting thyssenkrupp with our
time-proven direct drive systems
featuring Sinamics cycloconverters and
rugged synchronous motors which
have undergone continuous further
development in recent years,”
confirmed Jürgen Brandes, CEO of the
Siemens Process Industries and Drives
Division.
Jennmar and DSI enter
acquisitions agreements
Jennmar has entered into five separate
agreements with DYWIDAG Systems
International (DSI). Firstly, Jennmar will
acquire 100% of DSI Mining’s
manufacturing assets in the US,
integrating it into Jennmar USA.
“DSI’s strong presence in western
US hard rock mining will further
strengthen Jennmar’s position in this
segment of the market,” said Jennmar’s
Executive Vice President, Tony
Calandra. “On the other side, its
activities in coal mining will
complement our existing strong
footprint and close some gaps in our
offering.”
Meanwhile, DSI will acquire Jennmar
Latin America (Mexico, Chile and Peru),
Jennmar's European companies
(Jennmar Spain, Jennmar Multitex in the
Czech Republic, Jennmar Merol in
Poland) and Jennmar Australia.
Finally, Jennmar will sell a 50% stake
in its Chinese subsidiary, Jennmar Asia
(Jining), to DSI to establish another
ROCBOLT Technologies joint venture.
